Hash Brown Casserole

1 32-ounces package frozen hash  browns
8 ounces sour cream
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter, melted
1/2 onion, chopped
1 can Cream of Mushroom soup
2 cups corn flakes
12 ounces American cheese,   grated
1/2 cup butter, melted

Place thawed hash browns in 9x13 baking dish. Mix next 6 ingredients and
pour over potatoes. Top with crushed cornflakes and drizzle butter over all.
Bake uncovered 45 minutes at 350 F.
