Aunt Zola's old-fashion cream pie 1 cup sugar 2 level Tbsps. Cornstarch 1/2 cup Carnation evaporated milk 1 and 1/2 cups liquid coffee creamer or half and half 1 tbsp. Butter dash of cinnamon
Mix sugar and cornstarch together thoroughly by hand. Stir in evaporated milk. Mix well. Add coffee creamer and stir, but not so much that the mixture becomes foamy as foam burns easily. Pour in to unbaked pie shell. Dot with butter and sprinkle cinnamon lightly on top. Bake at 400 for 25 minutes or until filling begins to bubble. Reduce heat and bake at 300 until creamy, about 20 minutes. As the pie cools, the creaminess will solidify. Important: You can't make this pie with skim milk and oleo. You must have coffee creamer or half and half and butter to give the right flavor. Also, the carnation brand is the preferred in the recipe. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ Access the Recipes And More list archives at: http://www.mail-archive.com/recipesandmore%40googlegroups.com/ Visit the group home page at: http://groups.google.com/group/RecipesAndMore -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---
