Sandy,
yes, flour is always more in calories, more in fat, etc..but they now have
wheat flour tortillas, but I still prefer corn.

as for enchiladas, I have always used corn tortillas, for the same reason, less
in fat, and lessin sugar, and less in calories, plus, to me, the taste more
authenic, well, not that the flour ones are not good, but being raised in a
hispanic family, everything was always corn, unless I make home made flour
tortillas for burritos, or chimichangas, but woosh! then I'm asking for the
calories that flour brings along...ahhaa
I prefer corn when making mexican dishes like enchiladas, tacos, taquitos,
mexican casseroles, , but it is your choice.
For more authenic taste, go for the corn, plus they are a little more healthier
for you.
hope this helps
Syl

  Hi, Syl,

Okay, so in truth then, flour tortillas are far higher in calories than the
corn ones; hmmm, wonder why this is! Thanks for the tip; am trying to cut down
on the calories, so might go with the corn tortillas. for snacking, I prefer
flour ones. Oh, one question: what is the protocol when doing enchiladas,
should you use flour or corn tortillas?

  Sandy

    Sandy,
yes, tostada shells are flat corn tortillas, but you can also get them in
Flour, but these are high in calories, but I deep fry the flour tortilla by
useing prongs to hold them up while deep frying;the secret is I don't eat the
shell, I just use it like a bowl.
if you do want to eat the shell, better use the flat corn tortilla, and you
can either buy them, or fry them in olive oil and still be ok in the calorie
count
    hope this helps
    Syl.

Sandy here, with a question! where can you get tostada shells, and are
they anything like taco shells?
