Bon Jovi, Toby Keith, Keith Urban Set for CMT Music Awards

Bon Jovi, Toby Keith and Keith Urban have been added to the list of performers 
at the 2007 CMT Music Awards taking place April 16 in Nashville. Bon Jovi's
new single, "(You Want To) Make a Memory," will make its television debut 
during the show. The band's new album, Lost Highway, will be released by 
Island/Mercury
Nashville on June 19. Urban will be featured in a special performance from 
Australia. Previously announced performers include Carrie Underwood, Dierks
Bentley, Kenny Chesney, Martina McBride, Rascal Flatts, Sugarland and Tim 
McGraw. The awards show will air live on CMT.

Montgomery Gentry to Appear With Maya Angelou

Montgomery Gentry and the Fisk Jubilee Singers will perform together in 
Nashville during an appearance by poet and novelist Maya Angelou. The choir from
Nashville's Fisk University will perform several songs and also serve as a 
choir to back Montgomery Gentry. "When we learned she was coming to Nashville
to speak, Troy and I immediately jumped at the opportunity to be a part of this 
amazing event," Eddie Montgomery said, adding that their collaboration
with the Fisk Jubilee Singers will make it "a commemorative evening." The event 
will be held May 21 at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center.

Ricky Skaggs, Bruce Hornsby Release New CD

Ricky Skaggs and Bruce Hornsby released their collaborative CD on Tuesday 
(March 20) on Legacy Records, a division of Sony BMG. The two musicians recently
starred in an episode of CMT Crossroads. The album includes a new version of 
Hornsby's "Mandolin Rain" and closes with a cover of Rick James' "Super Freak."
... Other new albums this week include Last of the Breed (Lost Highway), 
recorded by Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson and Ray Price. In addition, Dierks 
Bentley
has released a concert DVD, Live & Loud at the Fillmore (Capitol Nashville).

George Jones Brings Out Joe Nichols at Ryman Show

George Jones invited Joe Nichols, Lee Ann Womack and Tanya Tucker to sing with 
him his concert at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville on Sunday night (March
18). Nichols, who attended the show solely as a fan, said, "George Jones is to 
country music what oxygen is to life. One simply cannot exist without the
other, and I am honored beyond words that I have been given the gift of 
performing with this man." Nichols' brief set included "Workin' Man's Blues" and
a duet of "Yesterday's Wine." For the finale, they sang, "I Don't Need Your 
Rockin' Chair." Nichols is currently working on his fourth CD for Universal
South.
