EASTER BREAD
 
2 c. Milk
1/2 c. Butter, melted
2 tsp. Vanilla
2-3 drops oil of anise
6 eggs
1 yeast cake
1 1/2 c. Sugar
1 tbsp. Salt
3 red dyed Easter eggs, uncooked
Sesame seeds
Flour
 
Dissolve yeast in 1 cup cooled scalded milk.  Add 1 cup flour and
melted butter.  In large bowl, combine eggs, sugar, 1 cup milk, salt,
vanilla and oil of anise.  Add enough flour to make a soft dough. 
Knead well and let rise until twice its size.  Punch down and let rise
again.  Shape into 3 round loaves and place on greased baking
sheets.  Place a red egg in top center of each loaf.  Sprinkle
sesame seeds on tops and bake at 350 degrees 1 hour.

2 pkgs. Yeast
1/2 c. Warm water
2 c. Scalded milk
3/4 c. Sugar
1/2 c. Soft butter
4 egg yolks
8-9 c. Flour
 
--FILLING:--
1 lb. Shelled walnuts
1 c. Light cream
1 1/2 c. Sugar
1 tsp. Vanilla
1/4 c. Fresh bread crumbs
4 egg whites
1/4 c. Soft butter
 
In small bowl, sprinkle yeast onto warm water.  Stir to dissolve. 
In large bowl combine milk with 3/4 cup sugar and butter.  Cool to
lukewarm.  Stir in yolks, yeast and 2 cups flour.  Mix well.  Stir
in enough flour to make a stiff dough.  Knead on floured board until
smooth.  Put in greased bowl; cover and let rise.  Grease four loaf
pans.  Make filling:  Chop nuts fine.  Heat cream.  Remove from
heat.  Stir in walnuts, sugar and vanilla.  Melt butter; stir in
crumbs, brown and add to walnut mix.  Beat egg whites until stiff and
fold into walnut mix.  Divide raised dough in four - do not knead. 
Roll flat.  Put filling on and roll up.  Tuck ends under and place
in loaf pans.  Let rise.  Bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes. 
Makes 4 loaves.  
 
 
EASTER  BREAD
 
1 c. water
1 c. canned milk
6-9 c. flour
4 sm. or 3 lg. eggs
1/4 c. margarine
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 lg. cake household yeast 
 
Scald water and milk.  Add margarine and sugar.  Mix until sugar and
margarine cool to lukewarm.  Add 2 cups flour and beat.  Add eggs,
one at a time, and beat after each addition.  Dissolve yeast in 1/4
cup lukewarm water; pour into mixture.  Add flour a little at a time
until you have added 6 or 7 cups.  Knead until smooth.  Let rise
until double.  Divide into 3 parts.  Put in greased loaf pans. 
Grease tops.  Let rise again until 1 inch above pan.  Bake at 350
degrees for 50-60 minutes.
