BEEF BRISKET (OR PORK ROAST)
by sherry_vinigrette 1 (12 ounce) bottle Heinz Chili Sauce 1 envelope Lipton's dried onion soup mix 1 (12 ounce) can regular Coke (not diet) 1 (3-4 pounds) beef brisket Set oven temperature to 325-degrees. In a large bowl, combine the chili sauce, onion soup mix and Coke. Place brisket, fat side up, in a roasting pan that will fit brisket and pour chili sauce mixture over the meat. Cover pan tightly with heavy foil (or 2 sheets of regular foil). Put in 325-degree oven and check it after 3 hours. If needed, add water to raise liquid to halfway up the thickness of the brisket. Again, cover tightly with foil and put back into oven for 1 more hour. Remove from oven and let covered meat rest for 15-minutes. Put meat on a platter and trim away any fat from top of meat. Slice meat thinly across the grain and return to pan with juices. Cover and reheat for 30 minutes. Serve hot. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ When we are grateful for the good we already have, we attract more good into our life. On the other hand, when we are ungrateful, we tend to shut ourselves off from the good we might otherwise experience. ~Sylvia --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ Access the Recipes And More list archives at: http://www.mail-archive.com/recipesandmore%40googlegroups.com/ Visit the group home page at: http://groups.google.com/group/RecipesAndMore -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---
