BITTERSWEET CHOCOLATE TART IN HAZELNUT CRUST

 

 

1-1/2 c.            Flour

½ c.                 Hazelnuts, coarsely chopped

3 T.                  Sugar

½ t.                  Baking powder

½ c.                 Butter

1                      Egg

2 c.                  Milk

2-/12 T.           Cornstarch

6 oz.                 Semisweet chocolate

1 oz.                 Unsweetened chocolate

3                      Eggs

2 T.                  Butter

1 t.                   Vanilla

 

Combine flour, sugar, powder till blended; add butter till

crumbs form add egg; add nuts; form in ball and press into 8"

tart pan w/removable bottom/chill and prick w/fork.  Bake @ 350°

for 20-25 min. or till browned; cool.   Bring milk to simmer;

add chocolate and stir till melted & smooth; cool 5 min.  Whisk

sugar/cornstarch in bowl to blend add eggs; whisk till blended;

whisk in milk mixture; cook till mixture thickens; remove; whisk

vigorously till smooth; whisk in butter/vanilla; let cool

slightly; cover w/wrap and chill.  When ready to serve, whisk

chocolate and pour into crust.  Drizzle w/chocolate and chopped

hazelnuts.
