Cherry Bon Bons

2 10 oz. jars marascheno cherries with stems
3/4 c. powdered sugar
1-1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. butter
1 tbsp vanilla

Cherry Icing -- to follow
1/2 lb. flaked coconut

        Drain cherries, reserving juice.

        Cream butter, sugar and vanilla until well blended. Add flour and
blend. Place a teaspoon of dough in the palm of your hand and flatten.
Place a cherry in the center of dough with the stem up. Wrap dough
around cherry. Place on ungreased baking sheet. Bake at dg350 12-15
minutes. Do not brown. Roll in cherry icing and then in coconut.

        Makes 2 dozen cookies.
