WHITE CHIP ISLAND COOKIES

  1 2/3           cups  all-purpose flour
     3/4      teaspoon  baking powder
     1/2      teaspoon  baking soda
     1/2      teaspoon  salt
     3/4           cup  LAND O LAKES(r) Butter -- softened
     3/4           cup  firmly packed brown sugar
     1/3           cup  sugar
  1           teaspoon  vanilla
  1                     egg
  1            package  NESTLE(r) TOLL HOUSE(r) Premier White Morsels -- 
(12-ounce) (2 cups)
  1                cup  flaked coconut -- toasted, if desired
     3/4           cup  macadamia nuts or walnuts -- chopped

Heat oven to 375°F. Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt in small 
bowl.

Combine butter, brown sugar, sugar and vanilla in large mixer bowl. Beat at 
high speed, scraping bowl often, until creamy (1 to 2 minutes). Add egg; beat 
until well mixed (1 to 2 minutes). Reduce speed to low; gradually add flour 
mixture, beating well after each addition (1 to 2 minutes). Stir in morsels, 
coconut and nuts by hand.

Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for 8 
to 11 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Cool 2 minutes; remove to 
cooling rack. Cool completely.
