Bachelor Meat Stew

Yield: 6 
Ingredients: 
          3    med  onions quartered 
          2     lb  stewing beef in chunks 
          6      x  carrots cut up 
          1    cup  cut-up celery 
         16     oz  canned tomatoes 
          8     oz  tomato sauce 
          4    med  potatoes quartered 
          3    tbl  tapioca 
      1 1/2    tsp  salt 
Method:
Place all ingredients in a tightly covered Dutch oven (heavy 5-quart pot
with tightly fitting cover). Bake in 300 degree oven for 5 hours. Do not
open at any time. Do not increase amounts of ingredients.
This recipe yields 6 to 8 servings.
Comments: Put meat in pan first and add some meat tenderizer if desired.
