Little Big Town Prepares A Place to Land

Little Big Town's new album will be titled A Place to Land and includes 12 new 
tracks, including 10 new songs co-written by the band and their producer,
Wayne Kirkpatrick. The album is set to be released on Nov. 6. The band members 
say they strived to make the album a cohesive work. "We're fans of albums
that you listen to from start to finish, like [Fleetwood Mac's] Rumours and 
Willie Nelson's Red Headed Stranger," Jimi Westbrook said. "We wanted every
song to be a piece of a bigger puzzle." Little Big Town continues its 
appearances with Sugarland and Jake Owen on the current CMT on Tour with 
concerts
Thursday (Oct. 4) in Salisbury, Md., Friday (Oct. 5) in Trenton, N.J., and 
Saturday (Oct. 6) in Reading, Pa.

Memorial Service Planned for Emerson Drive Member

A celebration of the life of Patrick Bourque will be held Tuesday (Oct. 9) at 
11 a.m. at the Belmont Church in Nashville. The former bass player for Emerson
Drive, Bourque died suddenly at his home in Montreal on Sept. 26. The service 
will be open to the public. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are
encouraged for the Mental Health Association of Middle Tennessee. All gifts 
received will be designated to support the Tennessee Suicide Prevention Network.

Deana Carter Will Host Fashion for Every Body

Deana Carter will host the Fashion for Every Body event at the Country Music 
Hall of Fame and Museum on Oct. 14 to raise money for the Eating Disorders
Coalition of Tennessee. The event will include music and a fashion show. 
Anastasia Brown will serve as emcee. Tickets are $100 and $300. Sara Evans 
hosted
the event in 2007. Carter will release a new album, The Chain, on Vanguard 
Records on Oct. 9. Her hits include "Strawberry Wine," "We Danced Anyway" and
"How Do I Get There."

Longtime CMA Awards Director Honored

Walter C. Miller, a television director who has been associated with the CMA 
Awards since 1970, was presented with the CMA President's Award on Wednesday
(Oct. 3) to recognize his dedication to the organization. The annual award is 
given at the discretion of the president of the board of the Country Music
Association. This year, artist manager Clarence Spalding presented the trophy 
to Miller, who was named executive producer of the CMA Awards in 2005. "Walter's
contributions to the CMA Awards can be felt in every detail and second of the 
program," Spalding said. "He has dedicated himself to delivering an awards
broadcast that reflects the best of our industry and the artists. He cares 
deeply and protects the prestige of the program absolutely."
