Printed from COOKS.COM
Put 1/2 cup sugar in a frying pan. Place over a hot fire and let burn
until sugar is melted and a rich brown color. Add 1 cup of boiling water
and let boil until sugar is dissolved. Beat together:
3 eggs
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 tbsp. flour
Add to this:
2 c. sweet milk
2 tbsp. melted butter
Put in the frying pan with the caramel mixture and cook over a hot fire,
stirring constantly until thick. Just before taking from fire, add 1 cup
of nutmeats, chopped fine (hickory nuts preferred). Fill pie crust with
this mixture and dot over top with whipped cream. This recipe makes 2
