Cold water fruit cake
Ingredients: 2c White sugar 2 tb Shortening 1 ts Cinnamon 1 ts Nutmeg 1 ts Cloves 1lb Raisins (seeded) 2 c Cold water 3 c Flour 1 ts Soda 1 ts Salt 1 tsVanilla combine 1st 7 ingredients in saucepan, stir and bring to a boil over medium heat & boil 5 min. Let cool. Then add vanilla. Add the flour, soda & salt mixture & at the same time add cut up cherries & nuts at least a 1/2 cup each. I also add a cup regular raisins.
