BROWNIE HEARTS

4 ounces unsweetened baking chocolate
3/4 cup unsalted butter (6 ounces or 1.5 sticks)
2 cups sugar
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup flour
1 cup walnuts or other nuts, optional
1 small chocolate bar, optional
Canned frosting, optional
Valentine decorations or additional nuts

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Grease a 9-by-13-inch pan.
Melt chocolate with butter (if using a microwave,
2 minutes is maximum). Stir until melted.
Add sugar, eggs & vanilla. Stir in flour & nuts, if desired.
Spread in pan.
Bake 30 minutes at 350 ยบ. Use a sharp knife to cut into heart shapes
(cut one out of paper & use as a pattern or trace a design).
Frost, if desired.
Can break up a solid chocolate candy bar as soon as the brownies
come out of the oven.
Cover for few seconds to melt chocolate; spread.
Eat right away. Or, spread with favorite valentine decorations or nuts.
