Spicy Rice
  1/2 cup each chopped onions and celery 
  1 tbs butter or margarine 
  1 tsp salt 
  1/8 tsp each ground allspice and cinnamon 
  1/8 tsp ground black pepper 
  1 tbs brown sugar 
  3 cups cooked rice 
  1/2 cup raisins, plumped 
  1 tart cooking apple, cored and chopped 
  1/2 cup sliced almonds, toasted 
In a large skillet cook onions and celery in butter until tender crisp. Add 
seasonings, rice and raisins. Heat thoroughly. Stir in apple; remove from heat. 
Cover and let stand five minutes.
