DECORATE YOUR PARTY GLASSES
Dress up your drink glasses to get everyone in the party spirit from the start. Rimming a glass in colored sugar is easy: Dip glasses in water, a thinned sugar-syrup or other flavored liquid. Then, dip into a shallow bowl of sugar that has been mixed with food coloring or powdered Jell-O. To take it further for Christmas, tie a licorice whip around the middle of the glass and sugar the rim heavily with red and white sugar for a "Santa belly" glass. Extras: Use miniature candy canes as swizzle sticks in cocktails or in hot cocoa, or attach a gummy bear to the end of a small plastic swizzle straw for cold drinks. Snip a large marshmallow or a large cinnamon gumdrop almost in half and place over the rim of a toddy cup.
