I cook them like I cook my pinto beans. I soak them over night then I cook
them on low in a crockpot adding spices onions and bacon, ham salt pork or
fatback. When cooking beans on a stove I cook them for about a hour and thirty
minutes then I turn the fire down to low and be sure to add plenty of water and
test for softness. I think you cooked for too long.

  Subject: [RecipesAndMore] Lima beans

Does anyone have a sure fire method of preparing dried lima beans?? I cooked
them for four and a half hours today and when they were done the beans were all
absorbed in the broth, no beans. Thanks for any suggestions, Don
