Hi Betty,
Some lima beans seem to never get done, I taste test every half hour for
donness. I have had the same experience with navy beans. It must have
something to do with the beans, themselves. I will e purchase and try another
bag, I want to make lime bean casserole with onions and cheese. Thanks for the
reply, regards, Don

I cook them like I cook my pinto beans. I soak them over night then I cook
them on low in a crockpot adding spices onions and bacon, ham salt pork or
fatback. When cooking beans on a stove I cook them for about a hour and thirty
minutes then I turn the fire down to low and be sure to add plenty of water and
test for softness. I think you cooked for too long.

Does anyone have a sure fire method of preparing dried lima beans?? I
cooked them for four and a half hours today and when they were done the beans
were all absorbed in the broth, no beans. Thanks for any suggestions, Don
