GLAZED STRAWBERRY PIE   

      1 qt. strawberries, washed & hulled
      1 1/2 c. sugar
      1/2 c. water
      2 tbsp. lemon
      1/4 tsp. salt
      1/4 c. cornstarch

      Bring sugar and water to boil. Dissolve cornstarch and 3/4 cup cold 
water. Add to sugar mixture. Cook 10 minutes until clear and thick. Stir 
occasionally. Blend in salt, lemon juice and red food coloring to make light 
red. Pour glaze over sliced berries. Mix gently cool. Pour in pie shell and top 
with whipped cream.
