Hamburger Stroganoff
3/4 pound ground beef 1/2 t. bottled minced garlic, OR 1/8 t. garlic powder 1 1/2 cups hot water 1 cup light cream OR milk 1 can sliced mushrooms, drained (4 oz) 1 envelop stroganoff sauce mix (1 1/2 oz) 1/2 t. dried minced onion 4 oz. fine noodles 1 medium tomato, chopped (2/3 cup) In a large skillet cook ground beef and garlic until meat is browned. Drain off fat. Stir in water, cream or milk, mushrooms, sauce mix, and onion. Bring to boiling. Stir in noodles. Reduce heat and simmer, covered for 6 to 8 minutes or until noodles are tender. Transfer meat mixture to a serving dish. Top with chopped tomato.
