BROWN SUGAR POUND CAKE
1 c. butter
1/2 c. shortening
1 box plus 1 c. light brown sugar
5 eggs
1/2 tsp. baking powder
3 1/2 c. flour
1 c. milk
1 1/4 tsp. vanilla
Cream butter, shortening and brown sugar. Add eggs. Sift baking powder
and flour; add alternately with milk to creamed mixture. Add vanilla. Pour into
well greased tube pan lined with wax paper. Bake in a 325 degree oven for 1
hour and 30 minutes.
TOPPING:
1/2 c. butter
1 c. chopped pecans
1 box confectioners' sugar
Milk
1 tsp. vanilla
