CREAM FILLED COFFEE CAKE   

      CAKE:

      1 pkg. yeast
      1/2 c. warm water
      1 c. scalded milk, let cool to lukewarm
      1 stick butter, melted in scalded milk
      1/2 c. sugar
      1 tsp. salt
      2 eggs, beaten
      3 1/2 c. flour

      Dissolve yeast in warm water. Add rest of ingredients in order given. 
Beat well. Let rise until double. Punch down and divide into 3 pie pans. Let 
rise again. Bake at 350 degrees until lightly brown. Split and fill when cooled.

      FILLING:

      2 c. powdered sugar
      1/2 tsp. salt
      1 egg white, beaten

      Mix the above together and set aside. Boil 1 minute 2 tablespoons water 
and 1/4 cup white sugar. Add to set aside mixture. Cream in 1 teaspoon vanilla 
and 1/2 cups Crisco. Fill coffee cake.

      CRUMB TOPPING:

      1/2 c. brown sugar
      1/3 c. flour
      2 tbsp. butter
      1 tsp. cinnamon
      1/2 c. chopped nuts

      Mix ingredients together until crumbly. Sprinkle over filled coffee cake.
