DATE BREAD PUDDING   

      Set cups in a pan of hot water while they bake so the custard cooks 
evenly. 1 c. snipped pitted dates 3 eggs 3 slices white bread, torn in pieces 3 
tbsp. brown sugar 1/2 tsp. vanilla 1/4 tsp. salt 1/4 c. chopped walnuts 
      Place milk and dates in blender container. Cover and blend until dates 
are coarsely chopped. Add remaining ingredients except nuts. Blend until 
combined and dates are finely chopped, about 30 seconds. Stir in nuts. Turn 
into 6 (6 ounce) custard cups. Set cups in baking dish; pour hot water around 
cups to depth of 1 inch. 

      Bake in 350 degree oven for 55 minutes or until knife inserted off center 
comes out clean. Serve warm or chilled with whipped cream. Makes 6 servings.
