10 Fabulous Smoothie Recipes

The Rush Hour Cook's Morning Smoothie
Until my "healthy life makeover" I had never eaten breakfast. The key to
my consuming this all-important meal was in finding this quick,
high-protein solution that I can eat on the run:
1 cup frozen berries of your choice½ frozen banana (peel bananas,
split in half, wrap in foil and freeze. This is a great way to use up
brown bananas! They still taste great in a smoothie!½ cup nonfat plain
yogurt½ cup orange juice (more or less depending on the consistency
you like)2 tablespoons flax seed*
1 tablespoon organic greens*
1 scoop whey protein powder (vanilla flavored)*
Combine all ingredients in a blender and mix well.
*These ingredients can be purchased at health supply stores and GNC
www.gnc.com They are all optional ingredients.
This is a great morning snack for kids, too! They taste so nice and
creamy-it's like having a delicious berry shake!
Orange Frosty
1 cup milk
1 cup water
1 can frozen orange juice concentrate
10 ice cubes
¼ cup sugar
1½ teaspoons vanilla
Mix in blender until smooth and foamy. Serve. Garnish with a sliced
orange twist or a cherry.
Berry Surprise
1 cup raspberry yogurt
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon confectioners' sugar
1 (16-oz) bag of frozen mixed berries
*use nonfat yogurt and skim milk to make this a low-fat treat.
Bodacious Banana and Blueberry Smoothie
1 banana, peeled and frozen
¼ cup frozen blueberries
1 cup orange juice
1/2 cup vanilla low-fat yogurt
Toss in a blender, mix and enjoy!
Coffee-Nana Smoothie
1 banana, peeled and frozen
¾ cup fat-free milk4-ounce container low-fat coffee yogurt
Cinnamon
Banana slices
Mix first three ingredients in a blender until well blended. Pour into
serving glass. Top with freshly sliced bananas and a dusting of
cinnamon.
Healthy Smoothie
1 cup cherry juice
8 ounces fat-free vanilla yogurt
1 cup frozen raspberries
½ cup red seedless grapes 2 packets Stevia® sweetener
Mix all ingredients in a blender until well-blended. Pour into serving
glasses. Garnish with a cherry, if desired.
Another Fruit Smoothie
1 kiwi fruit, peeled
¼ cantaloupe
1 ripe banana
1 cup mixed berry juice
Handful of ice cubes
Mix all ingredients and enjoy!
Instant O.J. Smoothie
1 cup orange juice
1 cup frozen strawberries
1 banana, peeled and unfrozen
1 banana, peeled and frozen
Mix all ingredients in blender, pour into serving glass and enjoy!
Chocolate Banana Smoothie
1 banana, peeled and frozen
1 tablespoon cocoa powder
2 cups skim milk
2-3 tablespoons crunchy peanut butter
1½ tablespoons sugar (or to taste)3 pecans
Handful of ice
Mix it all and enjoy!
Just-like-Frap Smoothie
¾ cup cold double-strength coffee 1 cup milk
2 cups ice cubes
3 tablespoons sugar
Place all ingredients in blender, mix well and enjoy!
Watermelon Wonders!
8 cups cubed seeded watermelon
¼ cup sifted powdered sugar
6 ounces frozen lemonade concentrate, thawed
Place all ingredients in blender, mix well and enjoy!
