Quick Corn Chowder

1 onion, diced
2 medium potatoes, diced
1 to 1-1/2 c. cooked, diced, ham
2 cans cream corn
1 can evaporated milk
salt and pepper to taste
1 tsp butter
1 tbsp cornstarch

        In 4-quart pot cook ham, potatoes, and onions in small amount of
water. When potatoes are tender add corn and milk. Season to taste.
Cook until almost boiling. If chowder is too thin use a bit of
cornstarch to thicken it. Float a tablespoon of butter in the chowder.
