Sausage Chowder
1/2 lb. bulk sausage
1-1/2 c. cooked kidney beans
1-1/2 c. canned tomatoes
2 c. water
1 small onion, chopped
1 bay leaf
3/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp garlic salt
1/4 tsp thyme
1/4 tsp pepper
1/2 c. diced potatoes
1/4 c. chopped green pepper
Cook sausage in skillet until brown; drain. In large kettle combine
beans, tomatoes, water, onion, bay leaf, salt, garlic salt, thyme and
pepper. Simmer covered for one hour. Add potatoes and green pepper;
cook until tender. Before serving remove bay leaf.
Yield six servings.
