YELLOW RIBBON CANDY   

      6 oz. yellow candy coating
      1/4 c. Karo syrup

      Melt yellow candy coating and syrup together in the microwave on medium 
powder. Use a microwave-safe bowl and stir often. Do not let burn. Let mixture 
set at room temperature or in the refrigerator until firm enough to knead, 
about 45 minutes. 
      If the mixture gets too hard, slowly soften in double boiler over 
simmering water. Knead mixture until smooth and pliable. Using a rolling pin, 
roll out half of the candy at a time between 2 sheets of waxed paper. Candy 
should be thin. 

      Using a sharp knife, cut candy into 3 long strips. Each strip should be 
about 6-inches long and 2-inches wide. Shape one strip into two loops and 
attach to cake. Drape the other 2 strips from the center of the bow to complete 
ribbon. Pinch the center of the bow to anchor the strips together.  Enjoy.
