GINGERBREAD COOKIES   

      1 c. molasses
      1/2 c. butter
      1/2 c. granulated sugar
      1/2 c. mashed potatoes
      1/2 c. sour milk
      4 c. flour
      1 tsp. baking soda
      1 1/2 tsp. salt
      2 tsp. ginger
      2 tsp. cinnamon

      Heat molasses. Add butter. Cool slowly and add sugar, potatoes and sour 
milk. Mix and sift 2 cups flour with other dry ingredients. Add enough more of 
flour as necessary. Chill 1 hour or more covered. Roll 1/4 inch thickness. Cut 
with cookie cutters. Bake about 15 minutes at 350 degrees.  Enjoy.
