Cherry Bread Delight 1/2 cup butter 3/4 cup granulated sugar 1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed 2 eggs 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract 1/2 teaspoon almond extract 1 (16 ounce) can pitted dark sweet cherries 2 1/4 cups flour 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon baking powder 1/4 cup confectioners' sugar
In a bowl cream butter, sugar and brown sugar. Add eggs, vanilla extract and almond extract; beat until fluffy. Drain cherries and reserve 1/4 cup syrup. Slice the cherries into fourths. Add cherries and the 1/4 cup syrup. In a separate bowl, mix flour, salt and baking powder. Mix dry ingredients with cherry mixture. Pour batter into a greased loaf pan and bake at 350 degrees F for one hour on the lowest rack.
