BUTTERSCOTCH PICNIC CAKE
1/2 c. butter
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. sifted all purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
1 1/2 c. buttermilk or sour milk
1 c. quick or old fashioned oats, uncooked
1 (6 oz.) pkg. (1 c.) butterscotch pieces, chopped
1/3 c. chopped nuts
Beat together butter and sugar until fluffy. Blend in eggs and vanilla; mix 
well.
Sift together flour, salt and soda. Add to butter mixture alternately with 
buttermilk,
mixing well after each addition. Stir in oats. Pour into greased 13"x9" baking 
pan.
Combine butterscotch pieces and nuts; sprinkle over top of batter. Bake in 
preheated
moderate oven, 350 degrees, about 30 to 35 minutes. Cool before serving.  Enjoy.
