Apples Two Ways

Sauteed Apples

2 firm, tart apples
1 tbsp butter
2 tbsp sugar
1 tsp cinnamon

Peel, core, and slice or dice apples. Melt butter in a skillet on

medium-high heat. Add apples and saute for five minutes, stirring

often. Add cinnamon and sugar, and cook, stirring occasionally, until

apples are tender. Add a splash of water or juice while the apples are

cooking if they stick to the skillet.

Baked Apples

2 firm, tart apples
2 tbsp sugar
1 tsp cinnamon

Preheat oven to dg400. Cut apples in half and core. Place halves, cut

side down, in an oiled baking dish. Bake until tender--15-20 minutes.

While apples bake, combine sugar and cinnamon. When apples are done,

turn over and sprinkle with sugar-cinnamon mixture.
