Church Supper Chicken Recipe
Yield: 4 Servings 

Ingredients
2  tablespoons butter 
2 stalks celery, chopped 
3 medium sized carrots,  sliced 
3 pounds uncooked chicken pieces 
1 cup uncooked rice 
1  package dry onion soup mix 
2 cups water 
Salt and pepper to taste  

Preparation
Saute celery and carrots in butter on medium -  medium low heat in a 
medium-sized saucepan or skillet for about 5 minutes.  
Mix rice and onion soup mix. Spread rice mix in the bottom of a 9 x 13-inch 
 or equivalent baking dish that has been greased or sprayed with non-stick  
cooking spray. 
Arrange chicken pieces on top of rice mixture. Place sauteed  vegetables 
over chicken. 
Pour water over all and cover with a lid to dish or  aluminum foil. 
Bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees F.
