Forwarded for Bruce Important Stolen Generation appeal -Sydney Support required for Janaka - one of the 'unsung heros' of the struggle to gain justice for Koories removed from their loving families by an uncaring state. Joy Williams appeal is being heard today (Monday) and is also set down for tomorrow (10:15 am) at the Court of Appeal in Sydney. The appeal is being heard in the Banco Court at Level 13 on the corner of Macquarie and Phillip Streets. Joy has had an often lonely struggle, and - from what i heard - was further victimised by the attitude of the original judge who heard her case. If you can spare some time to attend, please do. If going tomorrow it may pay to check to see if the appeal survived today. Ring the registry office (civil) of the Supreme Court, Sydney. Or, if you attend today and know it is continuing tomorrow let us know - or otherwise report on proceedings.
