For those of you who are interested, there is an excellent article in the
"Olympics Special Edition" of Time Magazine; September 11, 2000. The piece
was written by an Australian native; Robert Hughes.
Like many Americans, I knew little about Aboriginal history, although as an
African American I am a little more aware of the racial cruelty Aborigines
have suffered by the hands of their conquerors. I would like to know if
there are indigenous activist Aborigine affiliations I might join to help
the aboriginal "cause". I am involved in other African American and Native
American political organizations, and feel theses affiliations are
important. I also think the Sydney Olympics are a perfect forum for
Aboriginal concerns.
Sincerely,
Taliba
