Ian,
As a lover of social history I love Antonio Gramsci. He wrote at a time
of great strain on the
Italian labour movement, to defend socialist ideals. His thinking is very
inspirational, and produces good
cultural discussions. Maybe I should learn not to say "sorry" so often and instead put
a rocket up my
opponents more often!

Oh, Pearson the man is wonderful. He deserves some prominence because he fights
for land rights in a
white man's legal system. It's his political conclusions about the state that stink.
They are stuck in the
forties and fifties. People these days deserve decent social services and investment
in productive things,
rather than coppers and "mutual obligation". Self-determination must be meaningful,
and make improvements in
people's lives, otherwise we are still bullshitting people by telling everyone to have
faith in a boss's
legal system.

      Cheers,
      Matthew Davis
