VoIP is real time. So, why can't you use a flash player locally at the 
Red5 side to stream it to Red5? The 'real time' issue with converting 
Nellymoser to get MP3's isn't really a problem. On the VoIP client side 
there are some open source Java softphones available.

Maybe I'm dreaming.
