Hi Sascha,

thanks for your introduction, it's always nice to see new people on the
list.

Okay, I'll try to answer at least a few ;)

User management currently is not available in Red5. We concentrated
on the core features and a stable server API that can be used by
applications. Thus Red5 isn't only a broadcasting engine, but also
supports server-side logic, shared objects, remoting and basically
everything that can be done using Java. For 0.6 we also plan to
support scripting languages.

There possibly will be no "builtin" connector, but you can use any
Java library with Red5.

Sorry, I don't know anything about Spark.

Support for XML sockets is planed for 0.6.

We didn't do real benchmarks yet, but from my personal experience such
servers usually run a lot better on Linux than on Windows.

Currently with only Java as server-side language, you will have to
recompile your application (but not Red5) after each change. This will
become easier once we support scripting.

:) Well, maybe this is something we can add to the red5.org website
when it's online sometime in the future... Oh, and we don't have a
James but a John ;)

Not at all.

The chatmeeting was at 2pm GMT (that's 4pm in Germany). Where did you
try to connect to? In IRC you shouldn't need to register.

Cheers from Stuttgart,
Joachim
