Yes I just read another resource on the red5 blog site regarding the same question and that the flash player encodes before it broadcasts and the archived media is the encoded stream. Im still trying to work my way around the internal like with the streaming of the files and had to make sure it wasnt doing any codec stuff while streaming the media ?? > If you have a source capable to encode in real-time in vp6 and > communicate with FMS2, red5 can work with it. So there are broadcast applications that can stream flv in this kind of codec or similar ? I couldnt find any so it looks like ill have to be building the app in flex. > Unfortunately only th On2 SDK can do that at this moment, > because Flash Player can encode video only with Spark codec. > On2 SDK costs several thousand dollars. > Yes thats quite alot, i thought i read the codecs are already in the latest player/flash 8 encoder right ? I also see there is a free version of vp7 on the site. Im still trying to investigate what would be the best encoder for VOD files to handle the latest codecs etc Thanks.
