[Red5] Red5 - first stress test

Hi guys,

 

We have in our company tested Red5 server. Here are some info:

 

Hardware used

P4 Dual Core, 3,0 Ghz

1 GB DDR II ECC RAM

2 x Gbps LAN

2 x SATA harddisk

 

1. We have reached 400 mbps by using 50% of CPU.

2. one stream was cca 2 Mbps

3. we have established 200 individual streams on different possitions

4. there were no simultaneous reading from disk (good using of cache)

 

Questions:

 

  1. Are individual streams more demanding then one live stream (or TV like streaming)?
  2. What do you think, will the growth of clients be linear or after cca 70% will equal 100% and server will fall?
