Hi Tom,

Thanks for reporting. Interesting and promising since I know we can make many, many improvements.
If you will be performing more tests, I have a few idea of things you could change.

Compare between direct and heap buffers. We need to add a config for this.
Try using java 6, and different heap sizes.

1. We have reached 400 mbps by using 50% of CPU.

Not bad, but I know we can improve CPU.
Can you tell us which OS you are using and how much RAM the server has.

2. one stream was cca 2 Mbps

3. we have established 200 individual streams on different possitions

4. there were no simultaneous reading from disk (good using of cache)

What was the memory usage like?

Questions:

  1. Are individual streams more demanding then one live stream (or TV like streaming)?
Yes they should be more taxing. Generally for live streams the cpu does not increase much when add more subcribers.

  1. What do you think, will the growth of clients be linear or after cca 70% will equal 100% and server will fall?
Not sure about this one.

Thanks again for testing. If possible can you run the same tests after we release 0.6.
