Yes i agree, the reason being java is designed to be complicated so you pay developers who can understand it lots of money etc, or something like that :D I find so much of it quite tedious at most times, when its obvious it could be done differently, still trying to work out spring atm ;)

and you can do the same faster and easier with
Ruby. If you don't believe me just try to learn a bit of Ruby and create
a simple networking app, you'll make it in one day.
  
Id rather not, sure it looks like less character to type, but id rather stick to java syntax notation so C#, java, php.  Pythons the same though will take a while to get used to the aesthetics of the code first and then will be understandable lol.
