I am interested in if you changed any memory settings to accomodate
those 400 users. I am looking to stream pre-recorded flv videos to
(hopefully) a large number of people. I received a Java out of memory
error though:
[java] Exception in thread "FlowControlService"
java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space
[java] Exception in thread "DefaultQuartzScheduler_Worker-3"
java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space
[java] Exception in thread "DefaultQuartzScheduler_Worker-9"
java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space
[java] Exception in thread "DefaultQuartzScheduler_Worker-4"
java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space
[java] Exception in thread
"DefaultQuartzScheduler_QuartzSchedulerThread"
java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space
[java] Exception in thread "SocketAcceptor-0"
java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space
I am running red5-0.5 on Gentoo Linux with:
[echo] java.home is /usr/local/jdk1.5.0_07/jre and the target version is 1.5
I have now added "-Xms256 -Xmx1536" to red5.sh. I crashed, but just
after more load:
[java] Exception in thread "FlowControlService"
java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space
[java] Exception in thread
"DefaultQuartzScheduler_QuartzSchedulerThread"
java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space
In this case, my videos seemed to keep playing, they just stuttered and
stopped a lot. Does anyone have any tips here? My videos are currently
300k, but I'm looking to do 700k in the future as well. Would the
pre-.6 code work better?
Thanks,
Alex Thurlow
