yeah I figured out that's what was going on, but it still gives an error. I've uninstalled / reinstalled to c:\java_home just to be as generic as possible and still no go.
I was able, however, to open eclipse and comple a java application. Isn't that using javac.exe as well?

My JAVA_HOME env variable returned in SET command is:
d:\java
ant returns:
[echo] java.home is D:\java\jre and the target version is 1.5
But it compiles OK

¿Has this something to do with it with spaces on the path like:
