ant server is NOT an installation. It's just execution of And build
script task which ends up with server launch.
If you have Red5 running as daemon there's no need to start one more. To
connect to another machine use
rtmp://ip-here:port-here/app-name, so swap localhost with say
192.168.0.111:1935 (note that if you changed ports configuration your
port may vary)
if you run swf files located on your Linux machine then localhost should
be fine for default preferences. I suggest you to try connection from XP
box to Ubuntu with Ofla where address isn't hardcoded.

What net status do you get, is it NetConnection.Connect.Failed?
