Since you can develop your own screensharing solution with fp9 (this is 
what i understand), you could solve your problem by writing your own 
client to grab and encode screen data.

But i may be wrong... i dropped the "pursue for screensharing" long time

Maybe a shot from the hip, but since the user in anycase needs to do the effort to download and install atleast a cameradriver. Couldn't a "clientconfigured" Red5 instance with some? plugins solve the beef?
Then I guess other nice possibilities will show up to take things even further. Thinking forexample of P2P. So far asfaik the only econmically possible solution to use internet/IP for distribution of really big pieces of information to many people. For example TV.
