guys, thanks a lot for the replies. I think that my demands from the application are quite basic, and I understand from you that they should be answered on the client side? I thought that if we're using streaming, the client side only handles the way video is displayed on the screen (control buttons and their implementation etc) and not the content itself. that's why I was asking about integrating ads.
To continue Storm (steve's) replies: 2. re counting impressions - yeah, I want to get stats info which is then forwarded to the site's clients - they should see how many impressions they've had- since we'll charge for impressions it should be critical. 3. change on the fly - Say someone syndicates the specific page to his own site and users view the video 30 days after a campaign I made finished. this means that the same video should be followed or preceeded by a different ad, that I choose on the server side rather than on the client. In other words, the same videos should feature different ads over time, without re-enconding them. in other words, the Flash client should get different info from the streaming server. no? am I wrong?
