you are right with what you have written. You do not
need to buy a Flash IDE or Flex Builder 2 in order to create
applications for the Adobe Flash
Runtime, you can you open source technologies, consider looking at
http://osflash.org/ , http://flex.org/ and http://www.openlaszlo.org/
concerning the SharedObject
and other Flash related issues you can check
