Old Trafford crowd favourite Diego Forlan remains confident about his Manchester United future. Speculation has linked the Uruguayan with a summer move to Real Betis after failing to hold down a regular first-team berth since his 7 million move from Independiente 18 months ago. Almost two-thirds of Forlan's 62 appearances for the Red Devils have been from the substitutes' bench and it was rumoured the 24-year-old could be offered as a makeweight in a possible deal for Real's precocious winger Joaquin. News filtering out from Spain that an Old Trafford move would appeal to the youngster is bound to revive speculation that Forlan's stay with United could be cut short. However, as he prepared to try and impress Sir Alex Ferguson in Sunday's friendly with Mexican outfit Club America, the nine-goal front-man insisted his focus remains fully on his current club. He said: "People told me about what was in the papers, but I didn't let it affect my holiday. I have a contract with Manchester United and I am totally happy here. "If something was going to happen, I'm sure the club would talk to me first and they haven't, so I feel quite calm about the situation and fully focussed on preparations for the new season."
