Manchester United chief executive Peter Kenyon has denied press reports that he is set to meet with Freddy Shepherd in Los Angeles to discuss a deal for Kieron Dyer. Shepherd and Douglas Hall have left Malaysia for California to conclude a major piece of business, and with the Red Devils due to play Club America in Los Angeles at the same time lazy reporters have been linking the two events. But Kenyon told the Daily Telegraph: "I'm well aware that Freddy is coming to LA but it's purely coincidental. "He's coming on business but I would like to make it clear that it's nothing to do with us. "While he is in Los Angeles he has asked to come to the game." The exact nature of Shepherds business in the USA is still clear, but as he has made it clear that he intends to continue his policy of making commercial links with foreign clubs it may well be unrelated to the first team squad.
