A couple of years ago I submitted an article to Red News entitled "My very First Time" in which I recollected my first match going experiences. That's interesting. I will have to ask my Dad (lives in Swinton) next time we yack to recollect that match, he probably has a United Review (gameday programme) from it. He is a collector of game day programmes dating back into the early fifties, or whenever they started producing them, I haven't seen the collection in 20 years, but its large.
My first match was in the late sixties (a Tuesday night Reserves match with Leeds, I think). A good account of your first match,buddy.I think my Dads favourite all-time United player is Duncan Edwards. I emigrated to California in 82 so I have only seen United at OT like 3 times since then, all were preseason "friendlies" whilst on summer vacation. And at LA this summer, that was great. The "on reflection" things that we yack about are like, sure the weather is great here, a little hot in summer (95F today, 9/20) and good standard of living etc., but my Dad and bro have season tix to OT and get to see all cups including CL, so there is the compromise, I left Manchester for love, but I log-in all the time to see what our Reds are up to. And I have to say, you guys are the best group. Totally well informed, posting accurate notes quickly. I dont post often, but I love a good read when it comes to our Reds.
